Sheryl Ruth Kolitsopoulos has always been inspired by the beauty that she finds within life and nature. Her artwork stems from the tie between such beauty and her own lived experiences. Kolitsopoulos' figurative work captures the subject's dignity and celebration of everyday life in their natural environment. Her landscapes and cityscapes of Greece are influenced by conversations between herself and the natural beauty of its panoramic views. The foundation of her creative process is drawing, whether used exclusively, or in collaboration with painting. It's the personal connection to the subject matter that dictates the artistic decisions of line, movement, composition, value and color. It's all interconnected. And through these artistic decisions in her work, she invites the viewer to feel the same emotions she feels, to truly sit in them, and to understand what drew her to pick up the pencil in the first place.
