Watch our Virtual Artist Talk with Francesca Simonite
We hosted our first virtual program yesterday and it was so much fun! Thanks to everyone who tuned in on Zoom for our artist talk with Francesca Simonite, a Texas-based artist currently part of our show Superimpose currently on view at the gallery.
We will be hosting two more artist talks and an exhibition tour of the show as part of a new virtual series of programs. We encourage you to join us in real time, but we will be recording each of them as well for public viewing here on our blog too!

About the artist:
Francesca Simonite is an artist and photographer currently based in Austin, TX. She comes from a family of photographers which has sparked her critical interest in the medium. She questions what photography actually is and how it influences the way she understands her own experiences and memories. Thinking of herself as a camera, she explores what happens when she physically alters the photographic image. Francesca earned a B.A. in Studio Art followed by an M.A. in Teaching at Trinity University in Texas before moving to NYC to pursue an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College. After earning her degree in Brooklyn, she’s been back in Texas for the last few years, where she teaches photography at St. Edwards University in Austin.
