the saga of the paintskin - a virtual studio visit with Jovanni Luna

As always, we recorded our latest Virtual Visit on Tuesday for the program to live in its forever home on our blog. We visited Jovanni Luna via Zoom to get the full story on the creation and journey of the “paintskins” that populate his many series.

A brief bio:

Jovanni Luna is a Brooklyn artist that has been manipulating latex house paint to construct paintskins for almost ten years. The various mark making techniques and small scale allows the viewer to have an intimate moment while exploring the textural details of the sculpture. He received his BFA from Washington State University (2013), and his MFA  from Columbus College of Art & Design (2015).
