Lucha Rodriguez creates ethereal knife drawings, site specific works, and sculptures out of plastic.
Paradice Palase member Lucha Rodriguez received her MFA in Printmaking from Savannah College of Art and Design, and BFA in graphic design from the Art Institute of Atlanta.
Her work ranges from site specific pieces, etchings, drawings, colorful silkscreens, and intricately cut paper installations. Many of her works are created with pink, the artist’s favorite color.
Rodriguez was born in Venezuela and has been featured in group and solo shows in the U.S., Mexico, India, Hong Kong, and France. She has received grant awards from the City of Atlanta, and Art on the Beltline to create public art murals and sculptural projects. She has attended residency programs such as The Vermont Studio Center, Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts & Sciences, The Carroll House Fellowship, Walthall Artist Fellowship and Assets for Artists Studio Residency at MASS MoCA.
