Sunny Buick
Sunny Buick wants to use empowerment and inclusion to show how the world, people, and the future are still magical and worthy of hope and transformation.
Buick is an interdisciplinary artist mostly interested in painting, writing, performance, and video. Her main interest is in storytelling and likewise, her work takes on a narrative and figurative form.
After attending high school for art, she began to immerse herself in the San Fransisco’s blossoming tattoo milieu, eventually tattooing professionally and serving as an apprentice under Henry Goldfield. Among many other notable achievements, she has written for Juxtapoz and Skin and Ink magazines, she has go go danced on stage with the Trashmen, done work for Balmain, and performed at Palais de Tokyo, Yoyo. She has shown in galleries in many parts of the world and in museums including: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, Foster Museum, Wisconsin, and MIAM (Museum of Arts Modest), Sete, France.
