Deborah Buck
Deborah Buck is a fine artist whose paintings explore the interplay of surrealism and abstraction, romanticism, and the darker side of fairy tales.
Buck is a life-long painter and has been exhibiting work in New York and New England for over 30 years. Through her paintings, she creates worlds that are surreal and humorous using a vigorous and vibrant approach to texture, color, and strong drawing. She is interested in the highs and lows within cultures and is a restless spirit constantly pushing and exploring the boundaries around her.
Deborah’s recent works on paper reveal her fluid use of ink and mixed media. Buck has played an instrumental part in New York’s field of arts education as both a member of the faculty at the School of Visual Arts, MFA in the Design Department, and for eleven years as a Trustee of The Pratt Institute. She is currently a Skowhegan Council member.
